Annually, The Latino Hispanic American Community Center (LHACC) organizes two signature events “The Caribbean Luna Night” and “The LHACC Block Party”, where influential leaders from the region attend.
The Luna Night Gala raises funds for the Latino Hispanic American Communuty Center which provides programs and services to help less fortunate members of the community.
Participate in our Caribbean night, with your best island evening wear (Guayabera/Island Shirts, flowered print dresses slacks typical of a Caribbean themed party!) Be prepared for an island themed atmosphere, an exquisite dinner, Latin themed dinner song and music, and a cash bar of mojitos, specialty drinks and more! Come early, you won’t want to miss the pre-networking and lively reception including hor d’oeurves!
This Gala helps raise funds for the Latino Center of the Greater Harrisburg Region which provided over 10,000 basic human servicies such as food, clothing, shelter, domestic violence, human trafficing, and other referral services to clients who came into the Center daily. In essence, your participation will bring you much fun, while helping to bring much assistance and support to others this coming year.
The Block Party brings together the Harrisburg community to share and to learn about the Latino Hispanic culture. Enjoy live music played by local bands, watch cultural dances, taste traditional and typical Latino food sold by vendors, and participate in an all-day raffle, as well as different activities, games, and fun for all children.
The organizations that serve the Latino community have the opportunity to participate in the event. Examples of organizations that participate annually at the party are Hamilton Center, Highmark, as well as high schools, private businesses, and non-profit organizations among others.
Agencies and organizations have a great opportunity to connect with the community, integrating to work alongside LHACC to help and to make a difference.
